Chapter 12

In the last chapter Ralph is thinking about the death of Simon and Piggy and he realizes that there is no civilization left on the island and that wildness took the boys over. In the chapter Ralph destroys the sow head and takes the stick and wants to use it as weapon against Jack. when Ralph goes down to the jacks tripe he sees Sam and Eric guarding the camp entrance and they give him food and warn him that jack wants to kill him. So he hides in a thicket and fell asleep there. In the morning Jack is torturing the twins to find out the location of Ralph and he orders to smoke the forest that he can find Ralph and kill him. Because of the smoke he had to come out and runs and tries to find a new hiding place but he collapses on the beach where Ralph realizes a  naval officer, the officer came because he saw the island burning and the officer brings the children away from the island and Ralph is rescued from the terrible death that he would normally had. The chapter has much irony in it for example it is really ironical that the fire that burned almost the hole forest brought the officer to the island and it was not a normal signal fire like they had in the beginning. Golding uses this irony to blurs the boundary between civilization and savagery and it shows that they are closer together than it was illustrated in the story.

Chapter 11

In this chapter Ralph and his tripe are going to Jacks camp to get Piggy's glasses back that the other tripe stole in the night and Ralph takes the conch with him, because he thinks that that would remember Jack that they are civilized, but Jack does not want to give the glasses back and the boys start to fight. Then Piggy blows the conch and stares talking but the other do not want to listen to him and then Roger shoves a big rock down the mountain side and the and the rock hits Piggy and he dies when he got hit and the conch that he holed in his hand broke two. In this chapter the total chaos totally started and the blood lust of the boy's is controlling their lives. In the chapter Jack also captures the twins Sam and Eric and tortured them until they excepted to follow his tripe. In this chapter the hate of Jack against Ralph is getting bigger and bigger and there is nothing that Jack would try to kill Ralph his hate is overwhelming

chapter 10

In chapter ten Jack gets more and more an very powerful and cruel leader and he has all the boy under control with his cruelty. Jack has know the control over the hole island and his camp is for the most part the only camp because Jack got most of the boys on his side with fearing them and telling them that is more  fun at his camp. I the chapter it is very obvious how the civilized side in Jack is all gone the evil is now in control over him. You can see that when he ties a boy named Wilfred up and punishes him with hitting him and there is really no reason for the hitting. Jack is not a good boy any more he is a savage and he has no fear of killing people.

Chapter 9

In chapter nine it gets more and more clear that the evil side over took them and that a civilization is not existing any more. Simon who found out that there is no real beast and the beats is only inside of them gets killed during Jacks party. You can see through that the wildness of the guys. Simon was the goodness on the island he is the only one who stay good and did not get all evil and he is the one how gets killed and he was also the only one who knows what the beast really is. The death of Simon shows that there is know no civilization left, they are savages and the devil won over them and the only help to get saved dies and that is Simon.

Chapter 8

In chapter eight the boys separate into two groups after jack held meeting and did not got voted for a new leader he left and the people that wanted to come with him went with him. Jack overtakes the leader ship over the people that came with him and they. The group of jack gets really savagery and they  hunters and kill a sow. the head of the sow the put on a spear and use that as an offering to the beast. When Simon slipped away from the group he finds the sow head in the forest were now were flies all over it and the head starts talking to Simon and because of fear Simon faints. You can see how savage the children get and how there wild animal side over comes the civilizated side of them. Also you can see the craziness in Simon because of the head talking to him you can see that the boys have no real control over there self anymore.

Chapter 7

They are still on there expedition of finding the beast. During there there search they decide to hunt a boar and Ralph who was never hunting before got really fast caught up with the hunters and then he striped the boar with his spear because the boars were running to jack and jack got hurt from the tusks of the boar.Even that the boar escaped they celebrated happily and they reenacted the boar hunt and one of the boys is the boar during that the boy named Robert gets almost killed but he reminded them that they should do that game the next time with a real pig and jack says that they should do that with one of the littluns. in this chapter the evil of the boy comes more and more to the most important part of there personality, the wild and evil side has almost taken them over fully and that can foreshadow that they are going to kill pretty soon there own kind. The boys blood lust gets more and more important for them and get even violent to there own kind not only to the animals that are living on the island.

Chapter 6

In  this chapter the fear about the beast gets bigger and bigger under the littlun and the a dead parachutist  falls from the sky and the littlun think it is the beast and they get more and more feared. Sop they decide to do an expedition to look for the beast on the island and Jack is the leader of this expedition. In this Chapter you can see that Jack takes more and more power away from Ralph and Ralph at the same time allows it to happen when he for example gave  the leading of the expedition to Jack. In this chapter Ralph has almost no control anymore over the littlun. also in this chapter you can see that the balance between civilization and savagery on the island is shifting and they  are more going to the savagery side.

Chapter 5

In this chapter Ralph realizes more and more that the other children do  not follow his rules any more and he loses his control over them. He gets upset and  gets all the children together on the island and he tells them about his concerns that he has. In this chapter you can see that Ralph loses more and more his power over the other children on the island. You can also see through the description of his boy that he does not look like an civilized boy anymore and that his body and his hair look like wild person and he does not like that. The chapter also focuses on the beast, in this chapter the little children get more and more feared about the beat and the have different opinions were the beast comes from some say it comes from the sea . Many of the little ones had bad dreams about the beast and could not sleep good any more and hear wired noises. The beast could symbolize the evil of the people and the more and more rise of the evil wild character of the children.

Chapter 4

In chapter four it gets more clear that the hunters get more and more to "wild animals", because they are more interested in killing a pig, then in being responsible for the fire that is supposed to be sign that they can get found. They are only interested in killing and nothing else. While Ralph tries to do everything to build a society with rules and morals on the island. In that chapter you can see the first time the real hate between Ralph and Jack and Ralph shows that openly because he is upset that the hunters did not take care of there job by keeping the fire going. But Jack is not interested in what Ralph says about that he is more focused on the pig he killed with the other hunter. Another part were you can see the hate between Ralph and Jack, is when Jack hits Piggy. But there you see that not all Jack morals are gone until know because he admits that his acting against Piggy and the other kids was not right but he  does not apologize at Piggy for what he did.

Chapter 3

In the 3rd chapter the tension between Jack and Ralph rises more and more wile they try to establish a community. While Ralph tries to do everything to build  a new community/ society on the island. Jack  gets more and more wild and is only thinking about survival. Ralph also start to build huts for the little children and Jack only focus on hunting and you can see in this chapter how different they are and that they have different priorities, what they think is right to do for the survival on the island. You can see how the characters represent society and how Golding used the two boys as contrast. Ralph represents civilization, while you see more and more that Jack represents savagery.

chapter 2

In the second chapter it starts the boy on the island have a hard time to stay civilized. they get more and more wild. Especially jack who does everything to kill a pig. During the chapter they use piggy's glasses to make a signal fire but the fire does not really stays on so Ralph gave the hunters the responsibility to keep the fire on. But then the fire took over and burnt parts of the forest and one boy apparently burned in the fire and that scaared the other boy especially the younger ones. During that time there is still oder even if you see changes that they get more and more wild, there is still some civilization going on and they try to follow the rules of society or more humanity, but you see more and more that pretty soon that will be changed and rules do not longer exist or civilization, the evil animal side in the kids comes more to the major character part.

chapter 1

The first chapter was about the children coming on the island and about the plain crash. Then they are voting a leader for the group. In the first chapter you can already see how there are groups and classifications building and who are the people that take control over everything. The novel from golden reflects society and how rules play a big rule in society. The boys on the island reflect that and how the forming of society starts on the island and how the certain character change because of having no rules outside of a society. The character Ralph is the character that gets voted as leader in the first chapter he represents civilization, because he tries to holed every thing under control and establish rules that they could live on the island in  a ordered and good way. He does not wanted that the wildness in a human takes over he wants to build a normal civilization on the island.
