Chapter 3
In the 3rd chapter the tension between Jack and Ralph rises more and more wile they try to establish a community. While Ralph tries to do everything to build a new community/ society on the island. Jack gets more and more wild and is only thinking about survival. Ralph also start to build huts for the little children and Jack only focus on hunting and you can see in this chapter how different they are and that they have different priorities, what they think is right to do for the survival on the island. You can see how the characters represent society and how Golding used the two boys as contrast. Ralph represents civilization, while you see more and more that Jack represents savagery.
